Ahmoo (Allen) Angeconeb
(Lac Seul First Nation, Ontario)

Art object - two parts, plywood, freestanding, with applied copper sheeting and wire. Approx. 3ft X 5ft. This sculptural object has a cutout piece placed either in front or behind. Proper lighting creates a large, looming form.
First shown at the Royal Ontario Museum: Angeconeb, Roy Thomas, and Blake Debassige.

Ahmoo usually works on paper with etching-like figures that are both ancient and modern. His work is frequently shown throughout Canada and Europe. Ahmoo was artist in residence to the Saami (Laplanders) in Northern Scandinavia. He frequently lectures on Native art and has acted for the Ontario Arts Council as a consultant and judge for Native art.
