Observations: Again, a contrast - the first bear is stiff in its bearing, whereas this depiction, while retaining solidity, makes use of the rounded figures within the stone. Simionie is not attempting a literal depiction of a bear here, he is more interested in the stone, how to use it, and the figure concealed within it, revealed by the artist's judgment.
